In 2005, Port Erie is adding structural foam molding capacity. We
have converted a 10,000 square foot warehouse area into manufacturing
space. We poured a thicker concrete floor to accommodate the massive
size of structural foam machines and we added a two-trolley crane
system with 15- and 10-ton cranes to handle the molds.
Our 500-ton Uniloy Milacron machine has a platen size of 98”x89”
and tie bar spacing of 58.5” x 67.5”. This machine can
output 1,800 pounds of material an hour with a shot size of up to
150 pounds.
Initially, we will offer just one structural foam machine but we
have installed infrastructure to grow. We have a multi-year contract
with a customer that ensures we will be in this business for the
long haul.
Structural foam molding is intended to produce very large, thick
plastic parts. Foaming agents reduce part weight and add a cellular
structure that improves the part’s rigidity.
Due to confidentiality concerns we cannot display the parts we are
manufacturing. However, if you have structural foam molding needs,
please call us and we will be glad to discuss our capabilities.
